Dennis Quaid was one of the stars in the movie.

Wow! What a boring movie! Fun story line but there was several monologues explaining the story instead of playing it out.  The monologues were long enough for me to day dream through them.

The best part was the old lady who went psycho. The rest of the action wasn’t that great.

I still like Dennis, just not this movie.

An Acquaintance or a Friend?

I thought you were my friend
But I didn’t really know you
I confided in your trust
You only took offense
I can’t step back without trippin
Fallin on my butt and makin a mess

(Some people aren’t like me
They live in a small small world
Only the things are important
That they can see
Nothin else matters to them)

I reach beyond myself
I am an open book
If I couldn’t help
I just as well die
What I’ve been through isn’t new
Somewhere someone else is livin my story

It’s what I do
It’s who I am
If what I do is offensive to you
Then close your eyes and walk your own way
I’ll back off but I’ll remain
True to myself and those who truly love me

I don’t really understand you
How can I when your story is a secret
Why people hide what’s inside
At the expense of somebody else
So I do my best
To get this thought out of my head

I try to remember
I’m the one who’s different
I was born a seeker
I won’t be satisfied with less
Not everyone’s like me
Many people are satisfied with closed eyes

So are you a good person?
I’m sure you do your best
It’s how you see the world
It’s what’s right to you
I just hope one day you’ll see
Someone may be dying to hear your story.

Starring Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp.

What a lovely movie! I enjoyed this one very much. A fun mystery for sure. It was a love story but didn’t focus on the romance to much, rather the romance just added flavor to the whole thing. Delightful!

I love how Angelina Jolie has gone from rebellious punk to modern day Audrey Hepburn. She is lovely and graceful in this movie, as she is now more and more presenting herself.

Johnny Depp is still adorable even with out his Jack Black dread locks and eye liner and still has his suave sense of humor.

Stylelist at   http://main.stylelist.com/2010/04/28/angelina-jolie-channels-sophia-loren-on-set-of-the-tourist/   compares Sophia Loren to Angelina. Though I can see the similarities, I still say she carries her self with the grace of Audrie. Maybe she is a mix of both. The above pic is Sophia and Angelina and bellow is Audrie.

And now for Johnny in his pj’s! lol

Psalms 127:

3  Lo, children are a heritage of the LORD:

and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

4  As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man;

so are children of the youth.

5  Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them:

they shall not be ashamed,
but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

The Psalms were written somewhere between 1037BC to 539BC.

At about 1000 BC there were about 50 million people on the earth. (From http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/history/world-population-growth.htm) Today, which is 2011 AD, there is about 7 billion. (From http://geography.about.com/od/obtainpopulationdata/a/worldpopulation.htm) That is a 6 billion 9 hundred 50 million increase.

50,000,000 – The population when the Psalm about having a quiver (12) full of children was approximately written.

7,000,000,000 – The population now.

6,950,000,000 – The population increase from 1000BC to 2011AD.

I remember growing up hearing about this scripture and memorizing it.  I was taught having as many children as the Lord would give me would be a blessing and that scripture backed it up. Why didn’t Christian educators think about the time and population difference between when that scripture was written and now?  We can’t keep up with the amount of orphans and starving children around the world let alone in our very own country yet they continue to promote large families and condemn birth control of any type, even abstinence.

I was blessed to hear some folks talk about this the other day. A few of the people in the discussion had come to realize that having more than two kids was excessive yet they themselves had four children.  They love all their children but at the same time they are not using their love for their children to remain ignorant of the issues our planet is facing. Not only are we facing these issues but the children, no matter how many, will face them at a worse rate than we.

I have noticed before that humans are mostly parasitical. Sure there are some that are not but is there enough of us good guys to fix the destruction the other human parasites are creating at an alarming rate? Rather than trying to populate an already very populated planet we should be focusing on how to fix it and make it livable for those already here.  We need to come up with curriculum on ecology and implement it in the schools and churches.

I’m not trying to offend anyone. I adore all four of my babies and I have friends that have lots of kids and I see them all as valuable.  But I won’t use my kids or anyone else’s to condone the further destruction of the only current place we and our children have to live.

Moderation is accepted in almost every area but for some baring children is excluded. This is out of balance and doesn’t really make sense. Like I stated above, that scripture was written a very long time ago. We have filled the quivers over and over and now it’s time to move on to something else.  Some people feel they will find love and acceptance through their children. Just like those who try to find love going from one partner to another it isn’t going to happen, things will go wrong. You need to find acceptance in yourself. For those who believe they need to have a lot of children to assist them or bless them in the afterlife, if you can’t take proper care of the planet you’re on now, what makes you think you can care for another one in another life?

I want to add…

Just because I am starting to understand moderation in child bearing, doesn’t mean I condone people treating large families in a bad way. I have had the ugly looks and I have friends who have been approached and balled out for having “too many kids”. Meanness, bullying, and hate don’t help anyone or convince them to do differently. It just drives them away from you and closes their ears.  Negative energy is not going to help our planet either, so don’t fight fire with fire. People with large families are people with several individuals who have feelings and ideas and such and should be treated with respect. There are many famous people who have helped our world that came from large families. So don’t persecute what already exsists. Instead of bullying we just need education.

I used to be a big fan of the Christian artist Carmen. His lyrics were inspirational and gave my spiritual life a Red Bull type lift.

Although I now have a bone to pick with the man, I will not lie, he is a talented person and very charismatic. He makes his message, no matter how full of propaganda  they may be, lots of fun.

I wonder now, does he know he is spreading propaganda? Is he aware he is twisting the truth and his message is actually uneducated and taken from Disney type fairy tales? Does he know he is encouraging hate and persecution? Does he know he is instructing others to mistreat people of other beliefs, like witchcraft?  Or, is he like how I was?

I thought I was educated. I even studied, but I studied from other Christian sources. As a Christian with strong convictions, ethics and morals I whole heatedly believed lying was a sin and sin displeased God and I wanted to do nothing more than to please the Lord Jesus Christ. I ignorantly thought other Christians felt the same way. So with that ignorant way of thinking, why wouldn’t I believe the Christian sources I studied? They wouldn’t lie. But oh how terribly gullible and wrong I was.

What Carmen sings about in Witches Invitation is taken from Christian propaganda and fairy tales.  Sure, there are witches out there who do bad things. But then again, there are Christians out there who do bad things to. When I pick on Christianity it doesn’t take long for one of my Christian friends to remind me that not all  Christians are like that. Ironically, I have pagan friends that also remind me that there are good Christians out there too. But I don’t find it so when pagans, witches and wiccans are picked on. It seems there is a lot more of the love and truth like Jesus tells us to use toward one another in the pagan  community.

Well, I don’t know if I’ll ever figure out if Carmen is just full of it or is just well meaning but ignorant. I’m glad to have a heart of honesty and to be able to learn about things with out having fear of going to the sources to learn, rather than being brain washed by one religious source. Carmen may make a good living preaching through his songs but that’s just to much of a price for me. My conscious is too important and I have kids to be an example for.

In this song Carmen mixes Paganism and Christianity by putting witchcraft and satanism together.

Here’s the song inspired by fairy tales and taught as truth-

A good ghost story, murder mystery and all. I really enjoyed this one. I haven’t watched a scary movie in a while so I was a bit more on edge with this one as well as it being well done.

It stared Halle Berry, Penelope Cruz and Robert Downey Jr.

I like a good ghost mystery that ends well and this one did just that.

My favorite quote from the movie goes something like this, “I don’t believe in ghosts either, but they seem to believe in me.” I also like, “How can you trust someone who thinks you’re crazy?”

I love how Halle’s character mostly stays calm and collective when most people really would have lost their minds from sheer fear. She senses there is a job to do and, by golly, she’s gonna see it through.

I watched it on my computer with NetFlix. If you haven’t seen it yet it’s worth a watch. Be sure to pay attention to the very last scene.

I really enjoyed the movie all the way through. There was enough action to keep it fun along with a good story line of good vs evil and good winning.

The good guy scientist was Iron Man’s daddy before Iron Man was born. That added to the spice and fun of the movie.

The big bad guy was the same big bad guy from The Matrix.  He just makes such a good bad guy! lol I guess he’s our modern day Jack Nicholson.

It was a nice surprise to see Tommy Lee Jones in the movie.

As expected there is a preview for the Avengers at the end of the credits.  Can’t wait to see the Avengers!

Chris Evens played Steve Rogers/Captain America.

Hugo Weaving as Johann Schmidt/Red Skull

Stanley Tucci plays Dr. Abraham Erskine. I remember Stanley in Undercover Blues. He was hilarious. I want to get that one for my kids to see. He seems to be one of those guys that just shows up in all kinds of show. He’s supposed to be in the Hunger Games as well.

Just as the movie was starting and the Marvel sign was displayed I turned to my friends and told them I couldn’t wait to see what kind of cameo Stan Lee would make. He always puts himself in some kind of silly situation. Sure enough a little way through the movie he showed up and was his easy to miss but funny self.
