I just opened a forwarded e-mail and found this awful suggestion. Before I continue commenting about it here it is:

Christmas wishes! Don’t forget to show Christ’s Love by sending the ACLU a
Christmas card this year!
Blessings,
(My Uncle)
What a wonderful idea! Let’s hope it sends them into a tizzy!
CHRISTIANS EVERYWHERE:
What a clever idea! Yes, Christmas cards. This is coming early so that you can get ready to include an important address to your list.
Want to have some fun this CHRISTMAS?
Send the ACLU a CHRISTMAS CARD this year.
As they are working so very hard to get rid of the CHRISTMAS part of this
sad, little world. Make sure it says “Merry Christmas” on it.
Here’s the address, just don’t be rude or crude:
ACLU 125 Broad Street , 18th Floor
New York , NY 10004
Two tons of Christmas cards would freeze their operations because they
wouldn’t know if any were regular mail containing contributions. So spend
44cents and tell the ACLU to leave Christmas alone. Also tell them that there is no such thing as a ” Holiday Tree”. It’s always been called a CHRISTMAS TREE!
And pass this on to your email lists. We really want to communicate with the ACLU! They really DESERVE us!!
For those of you who aren’t aware of them, the ACLU, (the American Civil
Liberties Union) is the one suing theU.S. Government to take God, Christmas or anything religious away from us. They represent the atheists and others in this war. Help put Christ back in Christmas!
** Suggestion: Pass this on to your church, co-workers, family, and friends.
What do you have to lose but 44 cents, what do you have to gain — more than you may ever know possible.

Well, that was it.
I just don’t see that as showing the love of Jesus which a true Christian is supposed to do.
I also know how offended Christian organizations would be if a bunch of Pagans sent them a Yule card reminding them Christmas was originally pagan. They would have all kinds of things to murmur about and then moan about how persecuted they are for Christs sake.
I have Christian friends who regardless of the fact that I freely admit it have to remind me that not all Christians are like that. They may say they are aware that there are badly behaving Christians out there but the rest of what they have to say says they don’t really believe it. Well, that forwarded e-mail is some written proof that Christians can be just as anti-Christ as the people they persecute.
The ACLU may do things you don’t agree with but they have done their fair share of helping those who would other wise be destroyed by the systems. By sending them spam Christmas card you are being like what you say they are. If you’re gonna be a hater of them then add just about all lawyers and such to the mix and send them hate mail as well. While you’re at it send your self some too cause you do things that other people don’t agree with or like. Then be sure to sign your hate mail with “Jesus loves you!” .
I?m impressed, I must say. Actually not often do I encounter a blog that?s each educative and entertaining, and let me let you know, you’ve hit the nail on the head. Your concept is outstanding; the difficulty is one thing that not sufficient persons are talking intelligently about. I’m very pleased that I stumbled across this in my seek for one thing referring to this.
Nice post. I be taught one thing more challenging on completely different blogs everyday. It should all the time be stimulating to read content material from other writers and observe just a little one thing from their store. I?d desire to use some with the content material on my blog whether or not you don?t mind. Natually I?ll offer you a hyperlink in your internet blog. Thanks for sharing.
Lori, I agree completely. This is sheeple thinking they are “protesting” when they should be living the truth. “Aquire the Holy Spirit and peace, and a thousand around you will be saved.” St. Seraphim of Sarov.
Hahah, that was kind of funny, but you are right, it wouldn’t be showing Christian love to do so.. The people that did that wouldn’t be doing it becuase they wanted to show love, they would be doing it to be facetious. Personally, I don’t care for the ACLU, but I am not gonna send them a Christmas card to prove my point. I am sure they are well aware of how some people feel about them. I also would not send them a christmas card for the same reason I would not send a Jewish person, A Jehovah’s witness, A Hndu, or a Muslim a Christmas card. I might wuld send a “Happy Hanaukah” card, even though I don’t celebrate that holiday………I can show love by being loving even with differeneces of beliefs. As far as being reminded that Christmas has pagen origins.. as a Christian, I don’t think many Christians are told of that. In church, it was said there was never christmas trees before Christmas. I guess whoever came up with that never read Jeremiah 10. Of course it was not called a Christmas tree……but it was a decorated tree. I am not against Christmas celebrations, but Christians should not forget the truth behind it. Can you believe we sang “oh Christmas tree” in church…imo, Oh Christmas Tree is a song worshipping a tree…….worshipping trees is a violation of the ten commandments. so yes! please remind Christians everywhere the Pagan roots of Christmas! That way maybe the Christians can celebrate Jesus in a way that He would be happier about. Just sayin’
I can’t help to wonder, if Jesus was really born in September-ish, how come the churches never recognize that????? (if you are on FB, look in my notes and read the “happy birthday Jesus note.”
A powerful share, I just given this onto a colleague who was doing a bit analysis on this. And he actually bought me breakfast because I discovered it for him.. smile. So let me reword that: Thnx for the deal with! However yeah Thnkx for spending the time to discuss this, I really feel strongly about it and love studying extra on this topic. If potential, as you become experience, would you mind updating your weblog with more particulars? It is extremely helpful for me. Big thumb up for this blog put up!
Thank you Alex and Jeannie for your comments. Jeannie, I’ll have to check your FB notes out.
